Kato and Robin by jackcrowder |
Due to his youth, inexperience, and smaller size, the Boy Wonder is clearly the weak link in the Dynamic Duo, which their opponents often seek to exploit. Robin is also cocky, enthusiastic, and overly eager to prove his independent crime-fighting abilities, especially to Batman. He is often in trouble and in need of rescue.
The picture "Kato and Robin" was commissioned from the artist jackcrowder through DeviantART in 2015.
Kato is the faithful, Asian sidekick of the Green Hornet, the vigilante crime-fighting alias of newspaper publisher Britt Reid. Appearing from the 1936 premiere of the radio program the Green Hornet, Kato was played by legendary martial arts actor Bruce Lee in the 1966 television series on ABC.

This picture was inspired by the episode “Batman’s Satisfaction”, when the two sidekicks fought each other briefly to a draw.
Gotham City’s own cute, cocky, colorful, crime-fighting Boy Wonder appeared to be somewhat outmatched by the visiting martial arts master in black, dancing around his whirling opponent, avoiding his dangerous limbs. I would have preferred a longer fight and the bittersweet satisfaction of seeing the darker, ninja-like Kato kicking the colorful, all-American sidekick Robin's adorable ass.
However, in this picture, the artist had the two sidekicks suffering the same predicament.

This picture is fan art and is intended to promote the appreciation of Burt Ward's portrayal of Robin in the 1966 television series "Batman". This is an original scene and did not appear in the movie, the television series, or any other derivative material.
