Korak Meets Batgirl (Bowen12a)

Korak Meets Batgirl by Bowen12a
Batgirl (to Korak):  Hello Korak!  I've heard so much about you.

Korak Meets Batgirl 2 by Bowen12a
Batgirl (to Korak):  I envy you for not hiding behind a mask or a costume.  Having a secret identity seems dishonest somehow.

Korak Meets Batgirl 3 by Bowen12a
Korak (to Batgirl):  Having no secret identity has its price.  It leaves you as a target -- vulnerable and exposed.

Korak Meets Batgirl 4 by Bowen12a
Korak (to Batgirl):  The important thing is what you have accomplished as Batgirl.  You should be proud of yourself.

Batgirl (to Korak):  Thanks for letting me tie you up.  I always wondered what was the big deal about it.

Korak Meets Batgirl 7 by Bowen12a
Batgirl (to Korak):  I'm beginning to understand why I keep getting tied up so often.

Batman (to Batgirl):  Good work Batgirl!  You caught Korak breaking into our hotel room.

Batgirl (to Batman):  No Batman!  I invited Korak up here.

Batman (to Batgirl):  Poor deluded girl, boys like Korak only have one thing in their warped minds.

Korak is the Honorable Jack Clayton, son of English Lord John Clayton, Viscount Greystoke, also known as Tarzan, lord of the jungle.  He is the hero of a 1915/6 magazine serial and 1917 novel by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs and a 1920 silent movie serial, as well as a character in several other Tarzan stories from 1914 to 1924.  He experienced a revival in 1964 as the star of his own comic book series and as a major character in various Tarzan comic books, pages, and strips from 1966 to 1978.

Batgirl is best known as the crime-fighting alias of Barbara Gordon, a librarian and daughter of Police Commissioner Gordon.  After initially appearing as Betty Kane from 1961 to 1964 in the DC comic book series, she was reintroduced in 1967 in both the comic book series and the 1966 television series, with Yvonne Craig as Ms. Gordon.

Batman and Robin are the Dynamic Duo, the vigilante crime-fighting aliases of millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne and his youthful ward Dick Grayson.  Batman starred in his own DC comic book series since 1939, and Robin was introduced in 1940.  Batman and Robin were played by Adam West and Burt Ward, respectively, in the 1966 television series on ABC.

Korak strives to emulate the heroics of his legendary father but lacks his strength, maturity and experience.  Therefore, he is more likely to enter into dangerous situations and more vulnerable to being defeated.

Being a handsome, athletic, shirtless, peak human, teen-aged jungle boy, Korak thought that his comic-book convention debut would be a success.  However, finding that a simple jungle hero tended to be ignored in this busy, competitive, hierarchical environment in "Clash of the Comic Book Heroes", the son of Tarzan soon retreats to the swimming pool.

This 12-part picture series "Korak Meets Batgirl by Bowen12a" was commissioned from an artist through DeviantART in 2015.  In this series, Korak meets a fellow hero in Batgirl, and they discuss secret identities and bondage, until her friends show up.

This series is also meant as a representation of the inability of traditional heroes to compete in the superhero era in terms of popularity and commercial success.  .

These pictures are fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs character Korak.  I introduced Batgirl as a potential friend and love interest.  Batman and Robin are potential antagonists.  Catwoman makes a cameo appearance in the last pictureThese are original scenes and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip.
