Clash of the Former Cartoon Child Stars

Jonny Quest (to Dorno):  Face it!  Hadji and I were prime-time stars.  You were stuck in Saturday mornings entertaining the kids.

Jonny Quest (to Dorno):  Say it!
Dorno (to Jonny Quest):  I give up!  I give up!  Nobody remembers the Herculoids!  Nobody remembers the Herculoids!

Dorno is the son of Zandor, leader of the Herculoids, and his wife Tara, a family of three humans and their five very powerful pet creatures defending their jungle planet.  The Herculoids were the subjects of an American animated television series, which debuted in 1967 and was revived in 1981 on CBS and produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions.

Jonathan "Jonny" Quest and Hadji are the son and adopted son of Dr. Benton Quest, respectively.  They are both 11 years old and best friends.  Jonny's adventures were depicted in an American animated television series, which debuted in 1964 on ABC and was revived in 1986 on syndication and in 1996 on the Cartoon Network.  They were also produced by Hanna-Barbera.

Being a child star can also be an adventure.  They may get fame and fortune, but they also face adult temptations and responsibilities without necessarily being ready for them.  I imagine what Dorno's adventures would be as a child star.

The 3-part picture series "Clash of the Former Child Stars by Bowen12a" was one that I commissioned from an artist through DeviantART in 2014.

Jonny Quest, Hadji, and Dorno were attending the same school.  As child actors of comparable ages, they tend to be competitive.  While Jonny was the star of a prime-time series, airing on Friday evenings, Dorno was featured in a less-prestigious Saturday morning program.

Dorno is slightly older than Jonny and Hadji.  While he may have been able to handle either Jonny or Hadji by himself, shirtless pretty boy Dorno finds that he is unable to handle the two boys together.

This series is meant as a representation of how most Hanna-Barbera fan sites tend to ignore the Herculoids.  They seem to treat the series like a red-headed stepchild at a family reunion, and fan attempts to introduce more Herculoids material into them have similarly been ignored.  Therefore, having the fair-haired golden boy Jonny Quest bullying the Herculoids' shirtless pretty boy Dorno is a perfect reflection of Hanna-Barbera's treatment of the series.

These pictures are fan art and primarily intended to raise interest in the Herculoids and Dorno.  I introduced Jonny Quest and Hadji as potential rivals and antagonists.  These are original scenes and did not appear in either series or in any other derivative media.
