Tarzan Outside Greystoke Ranch by Bowen12a |
Korak is the son of Tarzan, the hero of a 1915/6 magazine serial and 1917 novel by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs and a 1920 silent movie serial, as well as a character in several other Tarzan stories from 1914 to 1924. He experienced a revival in 1964 as the star of his own comic book series and as a major character in various Tarzan comic books, pages, and strips from 1966 to 1978.
In "Korak Outside Greystoke Ranch by Bowen12a", below, the handsome, athletic son of Tarzan is arrested for violating Africa's stricter dress codes. In this picture, daddy comes to bail his boy out of jail. Apparently, some rules do not apply to the rich and famous.
The picture "Tarzan Outside Greystoke Ranch by Bowen12a" was commissioned from an artist through DeviantART in 2016. Earlier, in 2014, I commissioned the pictures "Korak Outside Greysoke Ranch by st00pz" from the same artist. I requested that he do one version which was based upon the American Tarzan comic pages (1968-1979) and strips (1968-1972) by Russ Manning and another version which was based upon the British Tarzan comic books (1977-1978) by Dan Spiegle. Tarzan is based upon the character from the Filmation animated television series.
This picture is fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs characters Tarzan and Korak. This is an original scene and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip.Previous blog: Introducing Tarzan
