Korak (to himself):   "I will stay on the ground until I am out of sight."

Korak (to himself):   "Then, I’ll stick to the treetops.  Wait, I smell something."

Korak (to himself):   "Interesting."

Korak (to Annie Leugenaar):  Mrs. Leugenaar, I'm here to rescue you.

Annie Leugenaar (to Korak):  It's a trap!

Lee Leugenaar cocks his gun behind Korak.

Lee Leugenaar (to Korak):  You disappoint me Korak.

Lee Leugenaar (to Korak):  You disappoint me Korak.  I feared that the heroic young son of Tarzan would be unable to resist rescuing a damsel in distress.  Still, you did manage to avoid getting killed longer than the others.  Perhaps your father will be more exciting prey.  At any rate, you are about to make a very handsome trophy.

Multiple policemen emerge from bushes around Leugenaar and cock their guns.

Capt. Jamal Bond (to Lee Leugenaar):  Not so fast Leugenaar!  Lower your weapon!

Annie Leugenaar (to Capt. Bond):  Thank goodness that you came just in time to rescue me and Korak.

Capt. Jamal Bond (to Annie Leugenaar):  Not exactly.  Korak knew that we were following him through a device in the lining of his loincloth.  He just waited until we were in position before starting his rescue.

Korak (to Capt. Bond):  You will find the bodies of 3 of Mr. Leugenaar's victims in the house.  Apparently, he kidnapped them so that he could hunt them.  He has also been fencing stolen goods from the many pirate raids in the area.  You will find the evidence in his warehouse on the mainland.

Korak is the Honorable Jack Clayton, son of English Lord John Clayton, Viscount Greystoke, also known as Tarzan, lord of the jungle.  He is the hero of a 1915/6 magazine serial and 1917 novel by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs and a 1920 silent movie serial, as well as a character in several other Tarzan stories from 1914 to 1924.  He experienced a revival in 1964 as the star of his own comic book series and as a major character in various Tarzan comic books, pages, and strips from 1966 to 1978.

Korak strives to emulate the heroics of his legendary father but lacks his strength, maturity and experience.  Therefore, he is more likely to enter into dangerous situations and more vulnerable to being defeated.

Annie and Lee Leugenaar were introduced in "Korak and the Leugenaars".  They are a wealthy married couple and neighbors of Greystoke Ranch in Africa.  Lee is also a businessman who is insanely jealous and suspects Korak of having an affair with his wife Annie.  He is now hunting the handsome, athletic son of Tarzan and using his own wife as bait.

This 40-picture series "Korak and the Hunt" was commissioned from four artists through DeviantART in 2017 and 2018.  Eight pictures are available here.

The alt picture was initially omitted from the series because I wanted to portray Korak as being more active and confident in response to being hunted by Lee Leugenaar.  However, the picture looked so good that I included it in this blog as an addendum.

These pictures are fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs character Korak.  These are original scenes and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip.
