Korak is the Honorable Jack Clayton, son of English Lord John Clayton, Viscount Greystoke, also known as Tarzan, lord of the jungle.  He is the hero of a 1915/6 magazine serial and 1917 novel by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs and a 1920 silent movie serial, as well as a character in several other Tarzan stories from 1914 to 1924.  He experienced a revival in 1964 as the star of his own comic book series and as a major character in various Tarzan comic books, pages, and strips from 1966 to 1978.

Wolverine is the alias of James Howlett, a mutant who possesses animal-keen senses, enhanced physical capabilities, powerful regenerative ability known as a healing factor, and three retractable claws in each hand.  He joined the X-Men, appearing in the Marvel comic book series in 1975, the animated television series in 1992, and various films, starting in 2000.  Wolverine has emerged as a fan favorite and has starred in his own comic books and films.

Korak strives to emulate the heroics of his legendary father but lacks his strength, maturity and experience.  Therefore, he is more likely to enter into dangerous situations and more vulnerable to being defeated.

Korak seeks to improve his fighting skills by challenging stronger opponents.  Wolverine accepts because he frankly relishes the opportunity to demonstrate the sharpness of his adamantium claws on the handsome, athletic son of Tarzan.

The three-picture series "Wolverine vs. Korak by jen-and-kris" was commissioned from an artist through DeviantART in 2016.  Although he is a peak human teen-aged jungle boy, Korak is no match for Wolverine.

This series is also meant as a representation of the inability of traditional heroes to compete in the superhero era in terms of popularity and commercial success.

These pictures are fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs character Korak.  I introduced Wolverine as a bemused sparring partner and potential antagonist.  These are original scenes and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip.
