Korak and James Bond

Korak is the Honorable Jack Clayton, son of English Lord John Clayton, Viscount Greystoke, also known as Tarzan, lord of the jungle.  He is the hero of a 1915/6 magazine serial and 1917 novel by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs and a 1920 silent movie serial, as well as a character in several other Tarzan stories from 1914 to 1924.  He experienced a revival in 1964 as the star of his own comic book series and as a major character in various Tarzan comic books, pages, and strips from 1966 to 1978.

James Bond is a British Secret Service agent.  He is the star of twelve novels and two short stories from 1953 and various films since 1962.

Although the stylish, sophisticated Agent 007 operates on a global scale, while the handsome, athletic son of Tarzan tends to stay close to home, they are both traditional heroes trying to compete in the era of superheroes.  However, considering how successful the Bond franchise still is, the Tarzan franchise really should take note.

The picture "Korak and James Bond by st00pz" was commissioned from an artist through DeviantART in 2015.  This version appears to resemble Daniel Craig, who started as James Bond in 2006.

This picture is fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs character Korak.  I introduced James Bond as a potential friend and mentor.  This is an original scene and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip.
