Korak in Sparring With a Friend by 09tuf

Korak in Sparring With a Friend by 09tuf

Korak is the Honorable Jack Clayton, son of English Lord John Clayton, Viscount Greystoke, also known as Tarzan, lord of the jungle.  He is the hero of a 1915/6 magazine serial and 1917 novel by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs and a 1920 silent movie serial, as well as a character in several other Tarzan stories from 1914 to 1924.  He experienced a revival in 1964 as the star of his own comic book series and as a major character in various Tarzan comic books, pages, and strips from 1966 to 1978.

Korak strives to emulate his legendary father but lacks his strength, maturity and experience.  Therefore, he is both more likely to enter into dangerous situations and more vulnerable to being defeated.

In this series, the youthful jungle hero invites his friend and frequent rescuer Captain Jamal Bond of the local police force to a friendly sparring match.

This multi-part series "Korak in Sparring Withh a Friend" was commissioned from 09tuf through DeviantART in 2023.  This commission consists of one pictures.

This picture is fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs character Korak.  This is an original scene and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip.

Robin the Boy Wonder is the eager, youthful sidekick of Batman, the Caped Crusader, the vigilante crime-fighting alias of millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne.  Introduced in 1940 as orphaned acrobat Dick Grayson in the DC comic book series Batman, Robin was played by Burt Ward in the 1966 television series on ABC.

Due to his youth, inexperience, and smaller size, the Boy Wonder is clearly the weak link in the Dynamic Duo, which their opponents often seek to exploit.  Robin is also cocky, enthusiastic, and overly eager to prove his independent crime-fighting abilities, especially to Batman.  He is often in trouble and in need of rescue.

In this series, Robin the Boy Wonder enters the world of the horror film The Grudge with Kayako Seiki.

The series "Robin and the Grudge by Ming-GID" was commissioned from an artist through DeviantART in 2022 and 2023.

These pictures are fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of Burt Ward's portrayal of Robin in the 1966 television series "Batman".  These are original scenes and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip or in the movie, the television series, or any other derivative material.

Robin:  That story in the paper, about the bank money being counterfeit was a ruse.  It was a trick of Batman's to make you try again.  That money you stole last night is real.  Don't you see out there?  This reckless crime of yours isn't necessary.  Oh, come on, crook.  You can't be all bad.  Let the poor lady go, huh?

Zelda:  I will release the victim, but under one condition: Robin must deliver the affidavit from Bruce Wayne that the money was real.

This blog is based upon the 1960s Batman television series and the episodes Zelda the Great (2/9/1966) & Death Worse Than Fate (2/10/1966), which I reviewed in the following link:

https://korakreviews.blogspot.com/2021/06/robin-in-zelda-great-291967-death-worse.html

A mysterious thief robs Gotham National Bank and disappears.

Batman's scheme to force the bank robber to strike again backfires when the thief kidnaps Aunt Harriet instead.  Now, Batman needs to send Robin the Boy Wonder to appear on television for him to confess to the ruse with Bruce Wayne as bank president at the table to confirm it.  Insisting that Robin provide her with written proof, Zelda lures Robin into an ambush.  Once again, the Boy Wonder is in need of rescue.

This multi-part series "Robin and Zelda the Great" was commissioned from 09tuf through DeviantART in 2022 and 2023.  Twenty-eight scenes in five pages and one additional picture are available here.

These pictures are fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of Burt Ward's portrayal of Robin in the 1966 television series "Batman".  These are original scenes and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip or in the movie, the television series, or any other derivative material.

Bomba is a boy who grew up in the jungle, trying to discover his origin.  Introduced in 1926 through a series of 20 adventure books produced by Stratemeyer Syndicate under the pseudonym Roy Rockwood, Bomba was played by Johnny Sheffield in a series of 12 movies starting in 1949.

This version is based upon actor Luke Halpin, who played Sandy Ricks in the 1964 television series Flipper.  I imagine that Halpin, being cute, blond, and athletic, with all-American good looks, would naturally be cast in another outdoor adventure series, like Bomba

In this series, the hunter looks like he is finished playing with his young catch.

The multi-picture series "Bomba and the Cage Match by roemesquita" was commissioned from the artist through DeviantART in 2022 and 2023.

These pictures are fan art and are intended to promote the appreciation of actor Luke Halpin.  These are original scenes and did not appear in the book series, the movie series, or any other derivative material.

Korak strives to emulate the heroics of his legendary father but lacks his strength, maturity and experience.  Therefore, he is more likely to enter into dangerous situations and more vulnerable to being defeated.

Korak has been captured and caged by Lee Leugenaar, who was introduced in "Korak and the Leugenaars".  He is a wealthy businessman and a neighbor of Greystoke Ranch in Africa.  Leugenaar is also insanely jealous and suspects Korak of having an affair with his wife Annie.  He has now arrived at his own, private island, where he intends to hunt the handsome, athletic son of Tarzan and to keep his stuffed body as a trophy.

This 40-picture series "Korak and the Hunt" was commissioned from four artists through DeviantART in 2017, 2018, and 2022.  One picture from the original artist is available here.

I was able to commission this installment last year and was hoping to commission more, but PayPal stopped doing business in their country soo afterwards.

These pictures are fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs character Korak.  These are original scenes and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip.

Dorno is the son of Zandor, leader of the Herculoids, and his wife Tara, a family of three humans and their five very powerful pet creatures defending their jungle planet.  The Herculoids were the subjects of an American animated television series, which debuted in 1967 and was revived in 1981 on CBS and produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions.

With the cancellation of the Herculoids, I am imagining that Dorno's agent is keeping him busy with roles in various horror films.  This one is Child's Play with Chucky the killer doll.

The multi-part series "Dorno in Child's Play by roemesquita" was one that I commissioned from an artist through DeviantART in 2022 and 2023.  Six pictures are included here.

These pictures are fan art and primarily intended to raise interest in the Herculoids and Dorno.  These are original scenes and did not appear in any movies, television series or any other derivative media.
