Licking Panther by Ming-GID

Licking Panther by Ming-GID

Korak is the Honorable Jack Clayton, son of English Lord John Clayton, Viscount Greystoke, also known as Tarzan, lord of the jungle.  He is the hero of a 1915/6 magazine serial and 1917 novel by American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs and a 1920 silent movie serial, as well as a character in several other Tarzan stories from 1914 to 1924.  He experienced a revival in 1964 as the star of his own comic book series and as a major character in various Tarzan comic books, pages, and strips from 1966 to 1978.

Black Panther's real name is T'Challa, king and protector of the fictional African nation of Wakanda.  Along with possessing enhanced abilities achieved through ancient Wakandan rituals of drinking the essence of the heart-shaped herb, T'Challa also relies on his proficiency in science, rigorous physical training, hand-to-hand combat skills, and access to wealth and advanced Wakandan technology to combat his enemies.  He is the hero of various Marvel comic book series, starting in 1973, a 2010 animated television series, and a blockbuster 2018 film, and a major character in various films, television series, and comic-book series.

Korak strives to emulate his legendary father but lacks his strength, maturity and experience.  Therefore, he is both more likely to enter into dangerous situations and more vulnerable to being defeated.

The picture "Licking Panther by Ming-GID" was commissioned from an artist through DeviantART in 2022.

These pictures are fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs character Korak.  These are original scenes and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip.

In May 1969, Korak was leaving for Tembo Haven with female companions on an elephant.

Dorno is the son of Zandor, leader of the Herculoids, and his wife Tara, a family of three humans and their five very powerful pet creatures defending their jungle planet.  The Herculoids were the subjects of an American animated television series, which debuted in 1967 and was revived in 1981 on CBS and produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions.

With the cancellation of the Herculoids, I am imagining that Dorno's agent is keeping him busy with roles in various horror films.  The next one is The Exorcist with Regan MacNeil.

The multi-part series "Dorno in the Exorcist by roemesquita" was one that I commissioned from an artist through DeviantART in 2022.  All nine pictures are included here.

These pictures are fan art and primarily intended to raise interest in the Herculoids and Dorno.  These are original scenes and did not appear in any movies, television series or any other derivative media.

Scott Hardy is an original character whom I share with the artist FranjoGutierrez at DeviantART.  Scott is an actor who played the role of Korak, son of Tarzan, in a Lara Croft movie.

In the previous movie, the son of Tarzan served as Lara Croft's handsome sidekick.  Korak is now ready to embark on his own adventures.

In this series, the son of Tarzan is introduced to the champ and his girlfriend on a safari to take pictures in Africa.  In previous blogs, Korak rejects the amorous advances of the champion's girlfriend, but the champ reacts to being told that Korak was the aggressor.  After being beaten in a surprise attack, Korak challenges the champ to a rematch but is beaten again.

In this blog, the son of Tarzan helps the champ avoid the potential danger into which he is walking.  Now, they swing to safety.  The champ is appreciative.

Merboy is based upon actor Luke Halpin, who played Sandy Ricks in the 1964 television series Flipper.  I imagine that Halpin, being cute, blond, and athletic, with all-American good looks, would naturally be cast in another aquatic adventure series, like Merboy

Merboy encounters a hungry octopus.

This four-picture series was commissioned from the artist through DeviantART in 2022.  All four pictures, as well as a previously unpublished picture, are available here.

These pictures are fan art and are intended to promote the appreciation of actor Luke Halpin.  These are original scenes and did not appear in the book series, the movie series, or any other derivative material.
