Robin:  That story in the paper, about the bank money being counterfeit was a ruse.  It was a trick of Batman's to make you try again.  That money you stole last night is real.  Don't you see out there?  This reckless crime of yours isn't necessary.  Oh, come on, crook.  You can't be all bad.  Let the poor lady go, huh?

Zelda:  I will release the victim, but under one condition: Robin must deliver the affidavit from Bruce Wayne that the money was real.

Robin the Boy Wonder is the eager, youthful sidekick of Batman, the Caped Crusader, the vigilante crime-fighting alias of millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne.  Introduced in 1940 as orphaned acrobat Dick Grayson in the DC comic book series Batman, Robin was played by Burt Ward in the 1966 television series on ABC.

This blog is based upon the 1960s Batman television series and the episodes Zelda the Great (2/9/1966) & Death Worse Than Fate (2/10/1966), which I reviewed in the following link:

A mysterious thief robs Gotham National Bank and disappears.

Batman's scheme to force the bank robber to strike again backfires when the thief kidnaps Aunt Harriet instead.  Now, Batman needs to send Robin the Boy Wonder to appear on television for him to confess to the ruse with Bruce Wayne as bank president at the table to confirm it.  Insisting that Robin provide her with written proof, Zelda lures Robin into an ambush.  Once again, the Boy Wonder is in need of rescue.

This multi-part series "Robin and Zelda the Great" was commissioned from 09tuf through DeviantART in 2022 and 2023.  Twenty-eight scenes in five pages and one additional picture are available here.

These pictures are fan art and intended to raise interest in and appreciation of Burt Ward's portrayal of Robin in the 1966 television series "Batman".  These are original scenes and did not appear in any comic book, page, or strip or in the movie, the television series, or any other derivative material.
